Start of construction at Sonnenerde!
After a three-year planning phase, we have started construction of the first industrial biochar production plant in Europe. Our aim is to convert woody, non-putrescible screenings from composting into high-quality biochar.
Over the past 11 years, we have acquired extensive expertise in the marketing and production of biochar. During this time, we have also travelled to other countries, visited countless partner companies and have been able to develop and optimize our own products.
Up to now, our focus has been on the agricultural sector and the production of finished soils. This is not over now, but we want to develop further!
With the new biochar production plant, we have the opportunity to develop further products. Our motivation in researching new products has taken us so far that we have even developed a new business segment: A new concrete aggregate called Clim@Add.
Clim@Add is an aggregate in concrete that is used in the construction of all kinds of buildings and objects. The use of Clim@Add not only improves the properties of the concrete itself, but also binds carbon. Our goal in the near future is to be able to build CO2-neutral buildings in order to reduce the burden on the environment. The product developed jointly with our partner CarStorCon,which is produced by us, is already being used in the construction of our new hall.
We are receiving active support from the company Kulmer Bau GmbH, which has already started with the earthworks. We will gradually introduce you to all our other companies and partners in the near future. In the meantime - stay tuned!

Sonnenerde – Healthy soil has weight!
We produce quality soil – simply disposing of biomass is not enough for us. Humanity now understands that it can intervene in nature and that each of us plays a role in deciding what the world around us will look like tomorrow. At Sonnenerde, we think that’s fantastic and have taken on the responsibility to treat the environment with respect.
