Sports turf soil

After leveling and creating the drainage grooves, this soil is applied in a layer thickness of typically 14 cm and leveled. The grass is then sown or turf is laid.

We recommend using this soil exclusively for the construction of sports surfaces and not for home garden lawns, as the maintenance and fertilization requirements are significantly higher with this soil.

1. Our sports turf base layer comes pre-mixed and only needs to be installed in accordance with ÖNORM B2606-1 – eliminating all on-site preparation and mixing costs!
2. Our sports turf base layer is standardized and always produced using the same raw materials – even when only small quantities are needed (e.g. for repair work). You always receive the exact same product and can reorder at any time!
3. Our sports turf base layer is 100% ÖNORM-compliant: All required values, such as grading curve, water permeability, water retention capacity, organic matter, etc., are not only met but lie within the optimal range. (According to expert reports, further improvement of this substrate is not possible!)
4. The nutrient supply has been optimized: All nutrients – except for nitrogen – are present in sufficient amounts for the first few years. A precise fertilization plan for nitrogen ensures 100% optimal plant growth. Since only nitrogen needs to be supplemented, this results in significant cost savings compared to conventional substrates.
5. Our sports turf base layer is practically weed-free! Farmland soil contains an average of 60 weed seeds per liter and is therefore not used. In addition, farmland soil varies greatly, making it unsuitable for producing a standardized product. “Weed-free” in this high-volume product means a maximum of 1 weed seed per liter (compared to 60 in farmland soil!).
6. Our sports turf base layer is microbiologically stable and highly biologically active: The existing soil microorganisms are the key factor for soil fertility and plant growth. Lawn thatch breaks down quickly and is converted into valuable humus. Soil life also strengthens the plant’s natural defenses against pests (e.g. fungal diseases).
