Ready-to-use organic bog soil for container and outdoor use. Suitable for all typical bog plants such as rhododendrons, azaleas, and blueberries. Thanks to its high compost content, this special soil ensures a very high nutrient supply, with additional fertilization outdoors only required after two to three years at the earliest.

For the first time, this new development makes it possible to completely dispense with peat. Peat extraction not only irrevocably destroys wetland habitats, but also releases the carbon contained in the peat in the form of CO2. This unnecessarily pollutes the atmosphere and fuels climate change. Compost also has a number of additional advantages in production: for example, it provides a significantly better supply of nutrients, including all major and trace nutrients, and makes it easier to rewet dried-out crops.

Since the organic bog soil has also been optimized for blueberries, we have opted for organic quality here as well. Every single additive is therefore approved for organic farming.

The horn shavings it contains are a nitrogen fertilizer and are slowly decomposed by fungi. A white fungal network is therefore normal and indicates high biological activity.

During a study trip to southern England, soil samples were taken from original locations in the forest under the most beautiful rhododendrons and analyzed here in Austria for around 200 parameters. An attempt was then made to replicate these soils. The biggest challenge here is lowering the pH value to between 4.0 and 5.5!

Through the targeted use of sulfur, it has been possible for the first time to steer the composting process in a different direction, so that instead of the usual clay-humus complexes, more acidic raw humus is produced. This acidic “raw humus compost” is mixed with conifer litter, expanded clay granules, and horn shavings.

Plant blueberries correctly!

There are cultivated blueberries and wild blueberries. Both require acidic soil with a pH value of 4.5 to 5.5 in order to thrive.
