Extensive green roof soil

Green roofing is a highly relevant topic, especially in urban areas! On one hand, it retains water, which then evaporates through the plants. This creates a significant cooling effect in summer and improves the microclimate. On the other hand, it provides additional habitats. With the right soil and construction, complete garden installations can be created on rooftops!

Our extensive green roof soil is a ready-to-use soil, typically applied in an 8 cm thick layer. Afterwards, sedum species and drought-tolerant grasses can be planted.

We use exclusively the hardest and 100% frost-resistant brick chippings from our own production (made from clay roof tiles). This ensures that our green roof soil remains stable and permeable for years.

Thanks to the use of pure clay roof tiles, our material has a beautiful red color that really comes to life after the first rain. Even without planting, this soil is an eye-catcher!

Brick chippings (frost-resistant, grain size 2–12 mm) and compost

Screening: 15 mm

Dry bulk density: 1.3 t/m³

Water-saturated bulk density: 1.7 t/m³

The brick chippings content is 90%. Special blends with lava, Leca, perlite, or other additives are also produced upon request. However, this is only necessary if a lighter substrate is required due to an insufficient underlying structure.
